Why a football?
Football is the most popular game and pastime in Africa, but many African children do not have a proper football to play with; at best, they have a ball, home-made from grass, plastic bags and string.

A football is a perfect gift for both individuals and groups, as is well illustrated by the excitement generated when a ball is handed out.

It is also a great icebreaker, helping travellers meet the local people they encounter and thereby promoting cultural inter-action and understanding; in South Africa, we call this ubuntu.

The ball is also a gift that can be enjoyed by many children at once, whatever ball game they decide to play, be it football, netball, volleyball or a simple game of catch.

And now that Africa is about to enjoy the world’s attention, with the FIFA World Cup from 11 June to 11 July 2010, all of Africa’s children and youngsters will be thinking, dreaming, living for football. Our standard football is easy to pack and comes with a pump and valve – and it is FAIRTRADE made in Pakistan.

So make a difference, give a ball and we will take it to Africa and deliver it to a needy child.

But these are unique footballs, not only in the weight, and colour and design; they also contain a gift of £2 which goes from you, when you buy a ball, to the charity Footballs for Fun Trust. They have distributed thousands of pounds to help needy children. Visit the charities page to find out more.

Our standard football is lightweight, easy to pack, comes with a pump and valve and is FAIRTRADE made in Pakistan.

We have these in the colours of various countries, depending on demand.
